Fin Rot?

ive noticed my gouramis main fin and tail is getting thin i did a quick water test when i went home and evrything was 0 apart from my ammonia was .50 but didnt have time to do a waterchange as i was on lunch

would the ammonia be the problem here or is this something worse ?

should i treat the tank or just keep doing daily W/C until he's better

The ammonia would be the problem. Keep on doing 50% water changes every day until the ammonia levels go down to zero.
