what can you do when the fin rot isn't stopping (even with w/c and meds) but the fish is healthy and fine, building nests, just that is tail is lessening a bit every day?

I did wonder that to be honest, buggering tail biters, he's so lovely as well - I need to put one of the kids toys in the tank don't I lol something like a small toy slide :p

nuh its fine im allowed to breed her still!
the boys tanks ready! woooooooooooo
hehe

Are the edges black or brown and look like they're rotting? If they don't then chances are your boys snacking on himself!

It's hard to say, I may need to get pics, in places they are a bit ripped in other places I thought was rot but there again, now I think about it the damage is only in places he could reach himself... i'll get pics but there are no black brown or white edges, just does look like rot in places because its a clean bite rather than shreds, can't explain it well sorry

He is definitely chewing it, oh its so annoying what can I do?

Well firstly make sure the waters crystal clean and add a bit of aquarium salt to prevent infection. Then try adding some more deco to the tank to keep him busy or give him a neighbor (male or female) to flare at. Bettas tend to chew their tails when they get bored or frustrated its like a nervous habit like a person who chews on their finger nails
