I have had good luck with Melafix on more than one occasion with fin rot. It smells good. IMO

I suggest removing the carbon before you treat with anything because if you don't remove that, treatment won't do anything to your fish. Any bacterial medication should help do the trick.

anywho finrot is relativly common, can be caused by bad water quality and is relativly easy to treat. a course of antibiotics will do the trick or melafix for a more natural treatment (i don't sugest smelling the medication).

is there an anti bactieral treatment that you would suggest to use. Ive used melafix and ive done a 40% water change. Ive also used an aloe vera conditioner to promote tissue regeneration. Ive already removed the carbon filter from the pump due to the directions on the label of the melafix bottle.

TC Tetracycline Medication

These medications are great if you can find them in your area. Very effective and quick!


Oh, what type of fish has the fin rot??

its a gourami and i think its called a flame gourami. Looks like a dwarf without the stripes on the sides. Instead of stripes it is all orange on the side.
