i went to my local petstore and they recommended maracyn for the fin rot that my fish have. he told me to treat the whole tank for 5 days and take out my filter cartriges so it wouldnt filter any of the antibiotics for the fish. now the directions say 1 tablet for every 10 gallons. i have a fifty five gallon tank. so should i add 5 or 6 tablets. 5 being for 50 gallon and 6 being 60 gallon but over the recommended usage. i added 5 because i didnt want to add 6 and it be too much for my fish. was i right or wrong. and should i have not removed the filter cartriges.
