I posted this earlier in the emergencies section earlier, but got no replies, I'm just posting it here because I have to go to work soon...
2 of my young guppies seem to have lost their tails, (maybe some more of the fry too, but its quite difficult to see), they're gone right up to the body. :(
I'm guessing that this is fin rot, but all up until last weekend, I was treating the tank with eSHa2000, as another guppy has shimmies. eSHa2000 claims to treat finrot too.
My tsnk is overstocked at the moment, I'm cycling another one at the moment to move some fish into, but I was wondering if they could have been nipped? There arent' any real bullies in the tank, but there was apower cut yesterday, so all the fishwere probably quite stressed.
Should I carry on with using the esha, as I used it for 3 days last week? Or get another fin rot med?
I took the water stats yesterday, can't remember what they were exactly, but theywere fine.
I also did a 25% water change today.
Please help

Did you take out the carbon?? it will absorb any meds you put in the tank. I have used fin rot remedies successfully. You could try melafix, it contains tee trea oils and has worked for me in the past. i use interpet for any problems i have in my tanks. Let me know how you get on.
