Fin Rot meds?

I was a bad fishy owner this week. I was so busy planting my 20 gal, that I forgot to do a water chagne for my betta upstairs. When I fed him this morning, I noticed he had fin rot

I have already done a 100% water change (he is in a 1 gal), added salt and melafix. I know that I should probably add an antibacterial med, but which one is the best to use for fin rot? I have Fungus Clear tablets by Jungle, Tetracycline, Maracyn and Maracyn 2 on hand.

I feel so bad because this is all my fault. Any recomendations?

EDIT: He looked alot happier once in clean water, and he began flaring and being alot more active.

EDIT 2: The temperature has also been fluxuating quite a bit. It was 86 when I last checked it, average is 78. I don't have the heater plugged in, we just don't have AC.

I used Maracyn II to successfully treat two Panda cories last week. The stuff kicks ass. Safe with plants and inverts too.

Thanks. I can look at someone elses post and tell them what is wrong without a problem, just don't ask me to choose a med to use on my own fish.

I've also used Maracyn 2 for finrot on two separate occasions, it did the job well.

I have always used Melafix for finrot, and his has been excellent. I like it because it uses tea tree and is totally natural.

I used MelaFix for my Angel who has a torn fin, and it is recommended for Fin Rot...good stuff. And it smells nice...tea tree.

I just tried MelaFix for my new betta that has finrot (got him that way) and it didn't work for mine. Also tried salt. Sometime this weekend I think I'm going for the MaracynII since I keep hearing that it works so well.

Well, today was the last dose of Maracyn, and besides developing a bacterial bloom in that tank (happened last time I used the meds as well), he seems to be doing alot better. The fins are healing, and he is active and fistey again.

Now as soon as my nitrites drop in the divided tank he is going in, he will hopefully never be exposed to ammonia again.
