Hello everyone. I’ve had my betta for a month and a half and his fins are starting to look weird. His 5 gallon tank is planted, is 80 degrees, has no sharp edges, has perfect water parameters, and it gets a 25% water change every week.

They look fine to me. I would up my weekly water changes to at least 50% though. I do 70%. If fins do deteriorate, do daily water changes if 70% for 10 days. You can add 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt for every 5 gallons of water too . Be sure it is dissolved first so it doesn’t sting the fish. After the first day, add 3/4 tablespoon of aquarium salt for each ( gallons with every 70% water change. Again, do this for 10 days. Good clean water is all you need for fin rot and a little aquarium salt. :)
