one of my fish has got fin rot on the tail fin and tip of the dorsal fin, also just infront of the tail is a white fluffy like thing sticking out from the side of the fish. i have pimafix and melafix which treat finrot and fungal problems but can i use them both together or shall i just go with the melafix for the fin rot?
another one of my fish has had this fluffy stuff before but it has cleared on its own after 24/48 hours but this time it hasnt.....
the fish may have been stressed yesterday as i removed them all to change substrate and its when i put them back in that i noticed the fin rot, the white thing has been there for a few days now and not cleared up. they had a 100% water change yesterday so lots of fresh water for them.

after doing the change of substrate i did get an ammonia spike but it was sorted with a 50% water change and has been good since.

240L tank
loads of filtration 2 x externals
4 discus
2 SAE
3 polkadot loaches
1 spotted perch
30 degrees C
pH 7.6-7.8
50% water changes at least weekly

ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 20

just read that labyrinth fish dont do well with these meds due to oil on the water surface so not advised to use with bettas, gouramis etc my spotted perch is a labyrinth fish so am now thinking twice about treating with these meds.....

i also have waterlife myxazin and esha 2000. would these be better to use?

Myxazin a good med for finrot.

Treat the whole tank if it's keeps coming back.

Myxazin and pimafix.

this is the first time ive had it.

the tail fin had a white strip through it about 2mm from the end and over 2 days it dissappeared leaving a 2mm shorter fin... it also has a small bit on the tip of the dorsal fin.

Let me know how you get on.
Good Luck.
