my blue and red columbian tetra has caught his tail fin on something, hges doing fine with out it and ive given him some stress coat to help re-generation of the flesh, and i was wondering will it grow back?
thanks for any help

If you could put him in a quarintine tank, this would be good. Also if you can treat with pimafix and melafix this will help his tail regenerate hopefully. I had this happen with a zebra danio once, his tail grew back nicely within a week.

Good Luck!!

Well one of my black neon tetras has had half a tail since I bought him, he's been fine for over a month and I think it's growing back.

hello luketendo
and thank you *fishkies* ill give it a go after my medic pack has benn compleated and then tanks been given enough time to settle back, ill keep a close eye on him and keep the water at a high standard (cant change water at the mo because bi0rb first air filter is at work and it says not to change water unless theres a amonia spike).
fingers crosed

never....... im anoying like that.
any who he getting more and more of his tail back every day, but hes been loosing a few scales here and there but i think its just the stress, there on anti-biotic for fin rot (no-longer related, second week of treatment altho the fin rot has gone away just to be safe). im going to the fish shop for any advise, plus for some food to get to his as hes been only getting a small amout of food at feeding time, im going to get some highly nutrishios food that helps a fish re-generate lost scales and fins.
any thing else i could do
