Fin Regeneration

I have a parrot fish in a 10 gal, but some of its fins are, em, ripped. do they heal over time? what can i do to make it heal faster?

Yes, they regenerate. I had an orange-finned loach with fin rot. His tail was almost gone, but after some meds it grew back clear and then got it's color back. I also had a gourami being nipped by my loacheds. After I find him a home with a friend, my friend told me his nipped fins did grow back just fine.

Are parrot fish tropical or marine? That may be a stupid question, I've just never seen them mentioned in the tropical section before...

they are tropical. A south american cichlid if i'm not mistaken.
