I finally got my betta for my community tank yesterday......he's fine with the other fish.....not agressive at all....as he came from a bustling tank of mollies at the lfs.
My tetra are scared of him and don't bother him, but the danios are a bit more nosy......they occasionally (and only the females) will go up behind him and i'm not sure if they are nipping him or warning him as his tail seems ok.....but it makes him jump.

Is this fin nipping? If so should I return the nippers to my lfs?

I forgot to mention the betta isn't acting odd at all, he swims around fine and is not hiding or anything, only moves a bit quick if a female danio gets too close.

I sat watching them for a bit this morning and one female in particular kept getting at him, so I have taken the two main culprits out and plan to return them to the lfs.
There was one big main female that was the original problem, then because she started this other one decided it was a good game too, I will keep an eye for any more for a little bit, then go to the lfs :)
who are even nice enough to give me credit, i wasn't expecting anything from them....just wanted a happy betta....who bless him isn't phased at all....just have to hope the remaining two smaller females decide to be nice.....the other two danio males haven't even tried to bother him.... (i think they know who's the betta man ;)... )
And in taking those 2 out I already think the betta seems even bolder than before.....though as I said he hasn't been hiding from them.
