i've had sailfin mollies, wag tail platys, and puffers for some time now. i was alerted that puffers can be fin nippers, but i've never noticed any type of problems. i've recently added a black ghost knife 2 days ago(he's about 6 inches in length). today when i came home 2 of the smaller sailfin mollies (2 inches in length) and some of my platys have damaged dorsal fins. do you think it could be from the puffers even though i've never had a problem or from the newly added bgk? i know they are known to eat small fish such as neons, but are they also known to nip at fins?

thanks,
chris

What Puffer do you have?
and
What size tank do you have?

You may have to reconsider your stock. Puffers on the whole, are not community fish and Black ghost knife fish.

How many gallons or litres is the tank.
Water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.

sorry, that was quite vague  . the fish are in a 55 usg tank. they are green spotted puffers, the little guys. and all my stats are good nitrite, ammonia at 0, nitrates at 10-20. the puffers seem to have been doing fine in the community for a few months now.
