Hi, I got lotsof help from you a short while ago when a couple of my fish had white spot. Now unfortunately, the same beautiful gourami has developed fin rot, ulcers round his mouth and looks basically about to drop dead. I'd been away for five days (22nd-27th Dec) and had a friend who was looking after them. I told him about the lights the food basic stuff..what could go wrong in 5 days? Also some of my fish seem darker?? My armored shrimp has been missing for over 10 days..only had him a month. I've done a 10 per cent change, put the gourami in a net tank separate from the other fish. His fins look so tatty i thought my male guppy's may have been taking advantage of his illness, they can be nippy. None of my other fish are displaying any symptoms or look vaguely unhealthy. I don't know, maybe he was vulnerable having just recovered from white spot. Treated with the fin/mouth rot fungus meds as instructed by lfs.
Do you think i'm doing right so far? The stuff given by lfs was "Interpet Anti fungus and fin rot".Wished I'd known about the melafix, poor little baby looks like he must be in some pain..Is there anything I can do in the mean time to help him?I'll get the melafix in the morning. His mouth/gilly bits look red and swollen,do fish feel pain?Stupid question I know.as for crackers the cameroon armored shrimp,he was always filtering by the filter..he was about 3inches long, blue and content, or so I thought! There's a few hiding places but why? the baby shrimp are still out and about, looking ok.And what about the darker appearance of my other gouramis and spotty dalmation fish?I was only gone 5 days!Maybe my friend left the light on all the time or did'nt have it on?? Can't get hold of them til the 3rd Jan to find out..such confusion..but mostly sadness for my injured gourami blueregard, and crackers the shrimp. I have a 120 litre tank, biggest fluval filter, temp 25dgs done the water change. Some of the plants are looking a bit ropey too while others look great. My boyfriend (who knows nothing like me) wondered if the armored shrimp had died and is rotting somewhere I can't get to easily. Could that contaminate the tank? Just can't think why things would go wrong so quickly.

Any help would be really appreciated
Thanks, Andrea
