Hi guys first time I've bought a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft tank and have alway had a smaller tank with a fluval 405 filter which I like and find easy to use.

I was wondering if fluval do a filter which would suit this size of tank?

Fluval fx5. Awesome performance but hideous looking... Like a giant dustbin that made me depressed every time I looked at mine.

I got a 5 foot Juwel Rio 400. I swapped my fx5 for 2 tetratec ex1200's. I prefer the look of the tetratecs to the fx5 and at only £89 barand new they are a bargain. The cope very well indeed at keeping my tank clean.

Or, you if you want a good looking filter and want to stay with fluval then buy 2 406's. Another good filter which iv owned and would recommend. Only downside is again costing more than the tetratecs for the same kind of build quality and performance. You could even add a power head for added water flow

way over a 100+ gallon, exceptional tank. :good: :good: :good: 180 by the questionable calculator on site,
what do you plan to stock? at that size I would use a combination of types myself( your canister, a hob to polish , and a sponge to fill in maybe), but I'm a Cichlid junkie.
you have a large 72" foot print and will, at minimum need to add a bit of circulation regardless of the filtration or stock. Dead spots WILL present themselves otherwise.
The x turn over is dependent on stock!! Honestly I cant help with the smaller but I know my larger.

If you do stock Cichllids then x2 the canisters and follow the hob and sponge idea. You will not be sorry.
