Filter?

I'm going to be getting a 20 gallon tank sometime - whenever I feel like going to get it. It's going to be going in my room, and the sound of running water while sleeping, well that's just asking for trouble if you ask me. I tried a filter for my Betta tank,the Marina 125 internal filter, and it was silent, but it was only designed for a small tank. - I don't know if they make them for bigger tanks.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a silent - or very quiet filter for a 20 gallon. Or a way to make the next size up in my current filter quieter - I figured that a higher water level would mean less distance for the water top travel so it would be quieter, but I also figured that would mean less oxygen in the tank so Any suggestions?

Internal powers filters, like the Fluval U series are pretty much silent. You really don't need to worry about oxygen levels; it's vanishingly rare for tanks to lack oxygen. As long as the filter causes a few ripples on the water surface, that will be fine.

I've got a fluval u3, very quiet.I'll add that it's in my room and sleepings no problem.

Almost any internal power filter or external cannister filter will be silent, if you angle the outlet well and keep the water level steady.
