if anybody knkow anything boiut whisper filter from personal expierecne or just know leme know b/c id really like to know if its suposed to be submerged or not

You can't have tiger barbs and corys in a 2.5 gallon tank. I'd recommend that you put the barb and cory in your 30 gallon tank till you can get a 10 gallon tank and get about 4 more barbs and 2 more corys. But as for the filter if its one of those minibowls tanks that comes with a filter then you sumberge it and use the hook thats on the back and hook it on the back of tank.

You have to wait a little while for responses, so try not to bump. :p

I don't quite know what the filter looks like, but if it is like the bigger models, I'm guessing the part you're talking about is the water outlet. It would be advisable to leave it a bit above the water's surface to allow for ventilation.

One single cory needs at least 5 gallons of filtered and heated water and a tiger barb needs to be in a group of 5 or 6 in at least a 30 gallon tank because of how active they are. They only fish that can fit in a 2.5g is a betta or 2 african dwarf frogs or a few shrimp. Does it look like this http://www.petco.com/Assets/product_images/4/4679825816B.jpg mine came with one of these only it didn't have the intake part in the front is on the bottom of it.

ya it looks like that and and the intake is on the bottome so theres no fish i can put in a 2.5 gallon tank that sucks well ther doing ok for now idk

I think you have the same one as me. In that case, you can submerge it almost all the way, but leave the top out of water a little. You can do it all the way, I think, but mine didn't work as well when I accidently filled the tank up too much. :look:

Edit: I agree with Durbkat, you're going to have to move those fish. 2.5 gallons is really too small for them ,seeing as both are very active fish and should be with their own kind. As for not being able to put any fish in a 2.5..that's not true. You could keep one Betta, if you want.

Well your right about how you can't put it in the 30g because of the angels. Why don't you give it to the fish store you got it from so it can be re sold and you can get store credit and get 1 male betta or 1 female betta.

i might give it to my friend and hel get some more so it has some friends b/c he has a goldifsh in a 10 gallon and hes gona put the goldfishin a pond wit some other goldfish

Well a 10g is still to small for tiger barbs. Like I said earlier they need at least a 30g with 6 to 8 of them in there. So either find a friend that has a 30g or more and has compatible fish in his tank and is willing to get more barbs or simply return to pet store so someone that can properly take care will take it.
