I would like to put somthing over the end of my filter inlet so that fry dont get sucked up into the filter, what can i put of it?? any sort of materials?

If you have any filter fiber/floss you can wrap a piece around the water intake and secure it with a rubber-band. I've heard of people putting a sponge around it. I've used stockings before. Just remember that if you cover the water inlet your water flow will be reduced quickly so it is important to clean whatever you use frequently. Also, when you remove it you might want to place a cup around it beforehand so as you remove it from the filter any gunk that's on the floss or whatever goes into the cup.

Cheese cloth works really well and can be found at most fabric stores for very little.
