Filter trouble

My power went outlast night for a few hours.

Everything else is working properly.. the air pump, ect ect.

but my filter doesnt seem to want to filter. It hums, I know its working, but its not pumping. even when I try to fill it myself.

any help please?

crap if I know, lol. it came with a 10 gal set up

Internal filter?
Canister filter?
Hang on the back filter?

check your impeller. It may be clogged. Hence the whirring sound but no filtering action.
