Filter Stuff for aquaclear 50

What is some good things to put into Aquaclear 50 besides the standard filters you can buy for it or do they work fine? Any suggestions?

they usually work fine with the stuff you can buy for them. Usually it's just sponge, carbon, and ammonia remover. If you want to add your own stuff you should look at perhapes adding different size pores sponges and maybe filter floss

if you have a planted tank, it's better to remove the carbon and replace with another media

I have an aquaclear 30
I have a sponge, some substrate of some sort and an ammonia remover

another sponge or maybe some floss. Basically anything the bacteria can live in.

I also saw a new cartridge at my LFS going for 20$ but it's good forever. It clears 4 times more particles than carbon, and doesn't remove the fertilizer from your water


if you don't have plantas, it's all good

interesting what is the product called?

I forgot the name
it was something new with a weird name.

I remember it to be in a little pouch and it looked white. The texture ressembles carbon too
