I have placed a piece of filter foam, across the ouflow, to slow down outflow. My Betta doesn't like the current. Will this affect the filter efficiency?
Slowing the outflow of a filter will in turn reduce the turnover of water by the filter. If this is in your 5 gallon it shoudn't have any detrimental effects
Thanks...it's in one of the 10 gals but there are two small filters, so I think I'll be OK. I've added the new betta to the 10 with the small Tetras. I'm watching carefully, and have a back up if there's trouble...
