I have a got a 120lt tank that needs to be set up, would it benefit from an external filter as opposed to the internal one that came standard?

Also having quite a bit of trouble with my mollies :(, can any one suggest a way of keeping them heather? I do regular water changes and feed them a variety of food,( flake, cucumber, daff, and blood worm..) all the leaves of the tank are fine but they do seem to be a bit sickly, the male one more so? It has been suggested that I put same salt in the tank, but some one on here has advised me not to do that as I have corrie cats? Any help would be most welcome as I’m sure you are aware that no one likes to see a sick animal.

1) Filter, external filter would be a nice addition but not essential.

2) Mollies do better in brackish (salty) conditions but as said, this isnt suitable for Cory's as they dont have scales and there skin will suffer from salt. All you can really do is keep doing as you are (good water conditions, varied diets etc) or re-home them.

Yep mollies do seem to do better in brakish setup, but freshwater is OK as long as it is kept in very clean conditions, mollies seem to suffer from high nitrates quite quickly.
