Filter Position In My Tank

I have a stingray 10 filter and just wanted to check that i have it positioned correctly?
Should i have the water jet at the top of the filter just breaking the surface of the water or should it be out the water so it is like a water fall.
Hope this makes sense to someone!!

it should be just along the surface.

Personal preference. If you want the waterfall type efffect, just above the water, if not just below. It doesn't really matter how you position it, aslong as it is submerged enough. You'll know if it isn't because it will stop pumping water.
