I am having an issue with my Aquaclear 70. In the picture below in the red circle the water is overflowing out of there. It seems like the filter media is floating a bit and causing the water to overflow, at least that is my assumption after playing with it.

Any ideas?

thanks

What do you have in there for media? It looks as if the media holder isn't totally pushed in on the left. This would cause the media to be pushed up. Overpacking with media will have the same effect.

Some overflow on the left is normal, most all of mine do it, I have around 10 ac's running now. Put a rock on the cover, a piece of slate works well. This will prevent the cover from being pushed up in the event the media holder comes unclipped. This is a common modification, as is extending the intake.

in the filter I have a foam insert, carbon, biomax.

now i plan on removing the carbon and replacing with filter floss this week. hopefully that will kepp it snug but the bottom foam seems to float a little.

anyways thanks for the quick reply :D

i run the same filter on my 55g and it does the same thing. no worries. everything is working fine.
