i'm starting a 150 gal oscar tank and am using a jebo 950 as a filter.i got it with the tank.the previous owner had it running front to back. i was thinking of running it left to right. the output is a three section tube with direction holes in it.thoghts on this?

Sounds fine to me. I have a 75gal mbuna with two filters running, a Fluval 405 (canister) and an Aquaclear 70 (HOB). The AC70 will only flow in one direction (obviously), so I have it on one side, and the output for the Fluval is kinda in the opposite corner so it will flow diagonally. Works for me.

As long as you get good surface movement with no dead spots you can set it up any way you want.
