Very very simple...I have a 6.3 liter hex tank, it will house 1 male betta - ( though it may not be his permanent home, as I may just buy him a 5 gal tank in the future ) - and my question is this:

Should I just leave the UGF in there, and if so...what air-pump would you recommend |I need one with an adjustable airflow if possible|

Or should I buy a HOB filter, and if so...What filter would you recommend for this?

As for heating, do you have any recommendations for a tank this small? I would just leave the tank as an ambient temp seeming as the light warms the top half of the tank fairly well, but the temp in my room can fall very quickly at night if the furnace doesn't kick on enough.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

I would use a small air driven sponge filter. Cheap as chips and very effective. I find Rena air pumps to be good quality.

With regard to heating, i think you'll just have to bite the bullet and look for the smallest heater you can find. It may not be pretty, but your betta won't appreciate freezing overnight.

Do rena pumps have an adjustable flow-rate?

And I figured I needed a heater, but...The smallest ( size-wise, not wattage) heater I can find is still pretty big for the tank....I wanted suggestions for a specific heater than would fit into the tank without taking up the whole thing ;)
