Filter Needed?

i have a 29 gallon marine tank with 25 pounds of live rock and a bak pak protien skimmer. i put a whisper filter on to help clear the water from the dust that came from the sand. is it ok to leave the whisper filter on or should i take it off?

not sure what kinda of filter media a whisper filter has. I assume its probably foam? If so that is fine, just make sure you clean the media regularly to stop detris build up (and thus phosphate/nitrate raises). Your main biological filtration will be done through your LR so its perfectly fine to clean the foam pads under a tap to get them really clean (doesnt matter if you kill off any bacteria in it unlike in a FW where it is your main biological filtration).
