Hello all
Seeking some help and advise from you, right I plan this week to fit my spare piece of juwel background into my Marina 35l tank I was also planning on using my now spare fluval one plus internal filter instead of the original hang on the back one, question is that the original media n tank are cycled as you know these are two cartridge type filters and the one plus is sponge I'm getting a new one plus filter sponge and my idea is to split it and then cut out the centre of the Marina filters and place these in-between the sponge therefore keeping my cycled media is this a viable solution or not?
Thanks in advance .

I'm not familiar with either of those filters, but as long as you can get all (or a very significant part) of the old media into your new filter it should be fine.

Do test for a couple of days in case of a mini-cycle, especially if you haven't been able to use all the madea. If you're only able to use a half or less, it would be more like a short fish-in cycle, so do try and use as much old media as possible.

Thanks for the reply fluttermoth that's a great help indeed just what I needed to hear,I will try and get most of the media removed and will be sure to monitor my levels too for the following week also, even tho it's cycled I still check all the tank levels twice a week just habit I suppose but this way I can see if there's a problem
Thanks again.
