Hi everyone,
My new filter arrived for my homemade 155L tank yesterday. Its 4ft long and I completely mis-judged the height of this filter.. its huge! Anyway it was always only going to be a temporary solution for the next couple of months until I can afford a decent external filter. But the issue is, it is a few centimetres to tall to attach the side of the glass without obstructing the hood. So my plan is to place it way into the corner and sit it on the substrate.. but perhaps put a couple of suction cups under it to allow it to rest just off the substrate. The filter is a little different to the design of the 'common' filter. The water is sucked in through vents all the way up both sides of the filter as shown in the little grills in the picture below, so by my thinking this wont be a big issue. Im only beginning to cycle the tank tonight so I have time to make some changes but im just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? experienced similar issues or any side effects this may have..
Thanks guys
