Filter Help

Hi i have just aquired a Tetratec EX600 filter that has been standing for a couple of weeks
My question is should i replace all the filter media,Clean it,Or run the pump as is?
The pump was originally used in a desease free tank but has now dried out.

You should,nt have to replace the media, but if you are worried about disease the just boil the media for 10 mins or so. Not a lot of diseases will survive that.

+1 to the boil

You will need to recycle the tank again though with the new filter, or run it alongside a filter which has already fully cycled for 1-2 months
