I've got a stingray 5 for my 21 litre betta tank and as im in no real rush for the tank to be cycled I was thinking... if I put the stingray 5 into my estblished tank for a week or two... then when it comes to to cycling the new tank... if I put 2 or 3 of the barbs from my esablished tank and the filter thats been running for a week or two into the new tank wether this will speed up the cycling??? i think that makes sence.... if it has made sence will it work??

Yes i would say that it would definitely speed up the cycling process, but you should still test daily for ammonia and nitrite and do appropriate water changes.

If you leave the stingray in the established tank for at least 3 weeks you could move it over without moving the barbs.

thanks....thats good.I'll need to wait for the ick/whitespot to clear from the established tank and then I start doing it... cool...

you will all shout at me for this but i really had no choice i only left my second filter in my establkished tank for 1 week and it went into my fry tank with no fatalitys
