Im planning on breeding some bettas, I will be getting the pair at the end of feb. then with conditionning
, it wont be for a few monthes before I breed but id like to be prepared! Ive heard you should have a sponge filter even for the breeding tank but use a valve and turn it to 1-2 bubbles a second.. Im just wondering would i cycle the filter in mature tank first or just put it strait into the tank with no cycleing at all? Also at what age/size can I change them to a HOB? In the grow out tank should, I just move the sponge filte over or switch to a HOB with foam on the intake? should i precycle it? Also I was planning on getting 100 deli cups, would this be enough? Thanks a bunch!

Also if anyone would like to give me any info on breeding bettas or tips, im going to make up a breeding info sheet for myself so i have a quick refrence, and anny additional or important info I should add just let me know.

Cycle the filter beforehand or use old filter medium and you don't need to worry about deli cups and splitting them for a few weeks yet (I take they aren't born yet)

No im waiting for my breeders they are on the main land an 1 1/2 away from where i live and im not going that way till late feb. but it will cost more than the fish them selves to ship when they are also about 1 hour from where im staying so im already paying a transport fee.. Im just wanting to make sure i have EVERYTHING ill need before hand as i plan to be very busy wiht them
