I have an Aqueon filter that just died. If your not familiar with this brand, they have a bio-grid to collect bacteria- no seperate media like a sponge or floss. It died after what I believe was a power surge. I want to change to a filter w/ media. Question is, how do I do it without losing the bacteria? Can I float the grid in the tank while the new filter is running or try to fit it into the new filter? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I would post this thread in tropical discussion. Get more help over there.
Good Luck.
