Filter Blowing White Particals

hi all ,,need some help,my fish have just been treated with inter pet fungas,and fin rot,,i noticed some cotton wool type slime on 2 of the fish,,once i added this treatment to the tank,,half an hour later the external filter started blowing out white particals,,,what the hell is going on,,,,the tank has been up and running about 8 month now,,any suggestions,,,,at alll,,,,please help.,,,if it helps 42 gallon tank with malawi cichlide,,,all my water parameters are good.

When did you last change your filter matting.

Anti finrot and fungus med not that good on columnaris.
Myxazin by waterlife and pimafix is a better choice in my opinion.

not changed the filter matting,,not needed,,,,the filter has been fine,,up until today when i added the medicine.
