hey guys, bare with me here lol.
the 29gallon tank and canister filter were the ones, my mum had when i was 5/6 and a family friend had the tank and filter and fish because we didn't have the space. now 12 years later the tank is now mine, the filter has been used the whole time and is in great shape. the friend has now upgraded to a 6ft tank :hyper:. so he brought the filter round (5 mins away) last night and i put it straight in my tank to keep the bacteria alive and i will be picking the tank up on wednesday or thursday. will the filter be alright in my 12g till then? will the bacteria be alright if i just to swap the filter straight over to the 29gallon with fresh water? how long should i cycle for?

cheers

should be fine in all honesty

im getting confused in the story though =/

if you are getting a 29Gal, and plugging it in, it should be fine, just do some water changes and it will settle in quickly ;)

if their is not as many fish your lose some bacteria due to starvation but it's better then nothing and will defo speed things up.

Try to keep water in buckets, keep gravel moist. etc etc this all helps
