Looking at possibly picking up a second-hand Eheim professional II 2126. Although I know it is supposed to cope with 350 litres, would it be suitable for a 200 litre tank or will it be too much?

Many thanks, Andy

The only problem you may have is the flow being too strong, but it depends on what fish you have and you can always lessen the effect of the current with longer spray bars, turning to face the side of the tank etc, so I'd go for it; it's almost impossible to over filter.

That's the answer I was hoping for and the longer spray bar idea is a good one. I currently have some rummy nose tetra, a few corys and a few otos. I'd imagine they'd all be ok?

Yes, they'd all be fine; it's more things like bettas and fancy goldfish that suffer with a stronger current.

I have one running on a 65 gallon, that filter does have a flow control that works quite well. You can slow it down to a trickle if desired.
