I finally have my 38 Gal tank setup and planted for a week and no fish yet. Its got a fluval 305 filter, my first time using a canister. I know I dont have to clean it often, and if I do clean it (maybe a few months later), all I need to do is to rinse the foam block and bio media with the tank or dechlorinated water. I was thinking about getting a cheap Rapids Mini canister for under $30 using just bio media to keep beneficial bacteria, so in case I do destroy the bacteria I have in the canister. I still have a backup. Is it a good idea or I should just save my money. Appreciated for any suggestion and comments.
