Just bought some of this as it is meant to clear up cloudy water. But I put it in an hour ago and it has turned the water brown and yukky

Is this stuff any good? Or have I made a huge mistake?

Oh my god what have you done?

Only joking, I've used it in the past and it worked well. It'll clear up after a day or so.

However, it can lower your Ph so be careful if you have sensitive fish.

It's not a long term solution either, consider getting a better filter, an external is your best bet for permanent crystal clear water.

Thanks for the information. PH has always been a bit high anyway, so probably no harm there. Am considering a change of filter, but that's one for the future as I'm a bit short of funds after Xmas!
