I am a real newbie and need help!!
I have an Aqua One Canister Filter 1200 and have a query. The instructions say remove the priming cap and fill the pump lid housing to the brim. with water. There doesn't seem to be a housing unit as such, when I pour the water in it goes straight to the bottom of the filter and out of ignorance I continued filling until the water reached the top of the filter. When I turned the filter on all seemed ok but then water started leaking from the sides of the filter where the housing clips are. I then emptied the filter of about half the water but then it starting making awful noises and wouldn't pump through the pipes. It also leaks from the bottom when switched on, but not when it is off....It is almost as if water going in is not at the same speed as that going out...
How much water should be in the filter when I first switch it on?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have spent most of today getting soaked!
