What's the best way to fill an aquarium doing s water change?

ATM I'm pouring a 20l bucket over the edge, which I end up either spillIng some or/and disturbing the sand and loosen the plants sending them floating xD

I was thinking of getting a hose pipe from my sink but then I was concerned about the chlorine... Or can I dump 90l worth of tap safe in first with out harming the fish?

Thanks

try pouring the water onto any bit of bogwood or big rock you have in there, or pop in an upside-down bowl and pour onto that. That'll stop your sand going everywhere.

If you want to add tap water straight into the tank, then you should be switching off the filter, then dechlorination *all* the water in the aquarium. So for a 180 litre aquarium, you need to add enough dechlorinator for 180 litres, then add the new water.

I recently found that a 10% top up with chloraminated water is enough to stall filter bacteria for 2-3 days, so I advise that you make sure that the tap water can't get close to the filter.

as with anything you use for the fish tank, use it ONLY for the fish tank. You don't want anything from the garden (lawn fertilizers, pesticides etc.) getting into the tank. Better to be safe than sorry.

Yep of course. I use an old watering can that we don't use anymore.
