Probably getting figure eights for my new tank but I was wondering how important salt levels are to brackish fish, I mean like its not imperative to get the salt level at your target right away after a water change? since they can live in freshwater, all be it for 5 + less years than in brackish water, but you have a reasonable amount of time to get it to where you want it without harming them? Also, how many of them could I fairly fit in a 180 Litre tank?

The best salt mix to use would be Instant Ocean and you can figure 2 tablespoons per gallon.

My Green spotted puffers are doing just fine. What are you going to use for substrate?

I have a mix of gravel and aragonite. The best way to acclimate them from the store water would be to drip them.

I have sand in the new tank

Their PH is going to have to be on the alkaline side. Reason for the aragonite, it maintains the PH, just as it does for my African tanks.

Agreed, aragonite or crushed coral are best to keep their pH around a steady 8. You can take your time raising the SG to 1.005. Even a couple of months is ok.
