Figure 8 Puffer Help Needed

I have a figure 8 puffer that's roughly 3 years old. It's beek has grown to the point where it's having a hard time eating. I tried feeding him snails since I've had him but he's never been interested in them. It's still active from time to time but mostly I can see it sitting in the upper corner of the tank. It doesn't look sick or anything, like I said it's still perky, but it's almsot like he's bored or something. I also noticed it's tail is a little frayed looking and it didn't use to be.

Is there anything I can do to get his beek cut back to where it doesn't look like it's bothering him so much? I'm out of ideas. Also, if he's not sick why does it seem bored so often?

What kind have set up have you got him in?

-size of tank
-water stats (amonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph)
-have you got salt in there?
-any other fish in there?
-what do you feed him every day?

You will need to find someone who can cut his teeth for you, i do it quite regularly for South American puffers, i see the puffers ever 5-6 months. Most terrifying thing i ever do...

Chances are though, its more through inadequate tank and food that has caused it...

If his teeth are too long then its going to be causing him a lot of discomfort and mean he just cant eat properly, most puffers end up starving to death if their teeth arent sorted..

As for the frayed fins... thats why water quality and salt are important...
