Got two blue rams around 2 weeks ago and in the past few days they have started fighting, and i mean REALLY fighting the pair of them are greedy sods but whenever I feed them they clamp down on each others mouths. I've never kept a pair before so I don't know if this is normal behavior?

Thanks

lip locking is fairly normal for rams, though you want to keep an eye on it incase it gets too aggressive or injures one of them. Be sure that you definately have a differently sexed pair, and that you haven't been given two males by accident. You can reduce aggression by setting up different areas of the tank into defined territories, making sure you have plenty of caves for them to hide in, and ensuring that your substrate is small enough for them to dig in. Its fairly normal when they're settling into a new environment and sorting out dominance, though as i say keep an eye on them because sometimes it can go too far and you'll need to step in if that happens.

is it electric blue rams that you have? or German blue rams?
Generally, female dwarf rams will have a pink tummy, though in electric blue rams it may be more difficult to tell. If you look at the very middle of their bodies, in male german rams their black spot should be very pronouced, whereas a female will have irridescent blue sparkles continuously right up to her front fins.
Knowing which species you have would definately help as general names change a lot. If you can't tell, upload a picture of each and we'll have a go at sexing them for you.
