i have two female platies in my 10gal and they are always chasing one another, poking and making their stance to fight beside one another. How do i get them to stop fighting??

sounds like they are just displaying. Unless they are doing physical damage to each other I wouldn't worry about it

make sure there are some plants in there to provide cover, that might help reduce the bickering

i have two plants in the corner only. they poke eachother pretty harshy.

My female swords do the same thing. Adding more plants and other objects can help reduce the aggression. Or you can move one to another tank.

one of them could be a late blooming male - the gonopapodium has not fully developed and it turns out its a male. it happened to me, i bought one male and one female platy, both ended up being male

I had the same sort of situation going on in a tank that I was using as an overflow for all the fish that wouldn't fit in my other tanks - I had two platies that were always fighting. I stuck four more females in there and those two bossed the group around, but the fin nipping stopped.

no, they are both female LOL.

okay i think i know the problem here. theya re both preggers. lol.

Just because they are pregnant does not mean they should be fighting.

If its to a extent that one is to stressed, you will have to part them altogether.

hi 5teady.

i will give them a little more time together as i plan on adding a few males and females to the tank :)

btw, were you able to add my video to your website yet?
