Fighter And Angel Fish

hey as u can see im having problems with my fighter i baught him yesterday i was told he could go in a tank with my angels
i have 8 angels and 2 gourami(honey) then i added this guy yesterday i was told he would b ok with them. turns out i was wrong.
the angels all formed a line and they attacked him as soon as he was released in the tank ,one of them got the fighter by the tail and draged him back wards i was so horrified i removed him and put him in my comunal tank,will he be ok in there? or will he eat all my fish?
he looks half dead i havent a clue about this kind of fish i just fell in love with him wen i went to the pet store and had 2 take him home,please advise me on angels and fighter.

I'm no expert by all means and am pretty new to bettas myself but the guppies and gourmi are going to be the main problems. I know especially the guppies as the have colourful big fins like bettas and I believe gourmi's can be aggressive. If you want to keep the betta then you will prob need to put him in a tank on his own. x
