Well ive had a few questions lately, and i wasnt sure where to post em' and i didnt wanna be postin all over so ill put em' all here.\

First, I have a 10gal with two full grown neons, and six very small ones. What else is there i can do with this tank? Is there any room for any cories? Prolly not... But what, should i just keep it how it is or maybe add a few more neons? Or one single other fish? i dunno...

Second, In my 29gal with yellow labs, Ive had them in there for almost three weeks and their still being shy! They seem to do a lot better when bed room lights are off and only their lights are on, its weird. How long ya think till their "not shy" any more?

Third, I could prolly post this in "Africans" but the largest male yellow lab is a pig! He eats everything. The cichlid pellets i put in, he gets almost all of them, along with the flake. I dont want him to get that "Maliwi Bloat" And what are the signs and symptons of it?

Last, Are blood worms ok for yellow labs?!

Thanx,
Wolf

1. I don't really know but sounds like there would be room for cories wait-for another reply
2.Labs being mbuna are rockdwelling cichlids suggestions include giving them more hideing places and personal caves, or possibly feeding less, mbuna should be hungry most of the time and begging for food.
3.Labs are some of the more tolerant fish and accept a more diverse diet so malawi bloat shouldn't be too much concern (I don't know what the symtoms are but have never had it), however do not feed blood worms, good foods for your fish include cichldid pellets and flakes, though not carnivore pellets something with spirulina in it, good frozen foods as suplements are krill, mysis, and brine shrimp, consider trying to feed vegetables such as boiled or frozen and thawed zuchini any veggie they like would be agood suplement

ok hmm anyone know about my stocking for the 10gal with neons?

ok no blood worms, maybe ill try to find some other forzen food. Ive tried the shelled pea thing, that was fun. Im gonna start feeding a lot less now too, its kinda hard though! There are many places in my tank, so much i cant even see them some times! "whered all my fish go!?"

Thanx vantgE

You'd be ok getting a shoal of small staying corydoras. I'd recommend either 3x Panda corydoras, 5x corydoras habrosus or 5x corydoras pygmaeus. These species stay a lot smaller than most average sized corydoras you see and will do better in the tank you have.

Good luck with your tank!

My research showed a suggested stocking number of 16 inches of fish for a standard ten gal. This is only a guidline but I agree a group of cory's should be ok.

And yellow labs are insectivores so they shouldn't realy be subject to malawi bloat which is caused by excessively fatty foods - to be on the safe side, keep worms to a minnimum but you can still feed bloodworms (they are actualy larvae, not worms...) once in a while.

awesome, ive always wanted cories, one question about them though...

How many hiding places do they need? Right now the tank is kinda open with two rock formations on each side, and a plant right in the middle in the back. Should i need anything more? more plants? or what?

Thanx for all the help on the labs, i think im gonna cut down on the feeding scheduals so their out more begging for food.
