Hi Forum, haven't been on in a while but have a few questions as I am having a few problems with my tank.

Basically I have a trigon 190l tank houseing 2 fancy goldies, one snail, one BN plec and several WCMM I currently feed in the morning usually a mixture of flake, pellets, worms, cucumber and peas which I alternate through out the week. (ps i know people say Plecs shouldnt be with goldies but my LFS has kept BN and common with goldies for 15 odd years and sold me the fish from the same tank also they get along fine and the temp is perfect for both fish ie mid range.)

Now for the questions:

1) can i change my feeding time from AM to PM without any problems to the fish.
2) I currently change the water by removing say 35% and then filling via a bucket with treated tap water, mixture of hot and cold. Now i would like to do this in a new way in order to avoid using the hot tap and to make sure all the water going in is exactly the same temp. I was thinking of buying a new plastic bin, filling it using the hose the night before and treating it then and covering it and then carrying out the water change the next evening so the water in the bin will get to room temp which is the same as the tank. any problems with this or anything i need to look out for when buying a bin i.e. certain material.
3) my current lighting hours are 8am to 8:30pm now this is causing the lights to got very hot and algae to grow, I would like to change this to maybe 10am to 4 pm and 5pm to 9pm which is 10 hours light. is there any problems in doing this.

Does all the above sound ok to you?

Thanks for your time.

the lighting idea is good and with the bin you could fill it with a pond liner and you should be able to change your feeding times without affecting the fish and what temperature is your tank if you have goldies in???

the tank is constant at around 70F

There is no heater in the tank or the room it is just the house and the weather that ikeeps it this high but i understand from users on here and my shop that fancy goldfish can thrive in slightly warmer temps over common goldies
