Hi All,

Just managed to persuade the wife that I needed a hospital tank as a back up. 22g 2ft long tank. I bought a fluval 3+ but had a few problems as it seems to work its way off the bracket. Chucked water everywhere thank god i was in the room at the time. Have checked with my LFS to make sure all was correct and it was it just seems the bracket is quite loose on them.

Anybody else had Issues with these?

Using sand roughly 2 inches deep washed the sand then filled up with water this was Friday night Tonight it is still very cloudy looks like mist swirling around and can't seem to find any info why.

Have checked the filters and they were a bit murky at the bottom so i have cleaned them and put them back in.

Just checked stats

PH 6.6
Amm 0
Nit 0
N3 0

Help would be appreciated.

Best to let the sand settle before switching on the filter as the sand won't do the impellor any good, stuff some filter floss in the filter to remove the dust out of the water.

leave the sand to settle for a wee while ( a day or two) and the larger pieces will drop out of thw water, then turn your filter on and it will get rid of the rest of the particles....

are you doing a fishless cycle or one with fish?

Thank you I will turn the filter off. I would like to try a fishless cycle, But I still have a lot more to read on the Issue which I will from the forum.I think some of it seems quite tricky. I used four ZDs for my main tank put them in after 14 days and thankfully i still have them all.

Thanks again.
