Thanks.

The tank is 6x2x2 at the moment but if all goes to plan at the start of next year It will change for a 8'l X 3'wx 30"h.

I got Archie when he was about 2" long after keeping Oscars. So i want something different to fill the tank i've had him now for nine or ten years I think so he's family. He's close to 2ft long now, which is also why he is getting a bigger tank.

I would caution anyone getting big fish to plan ahead. Big fish are very intelligent and have numerous different moods that tell you how they are feeling.

The Syno's were given to me by a friend but they have really put on weight since.
Whats interesting is the close relationship the two syno's have with the giraffe. They will sit under him for protection, and if he produces extra slime they clean him off. They are never far from him but there is never aggression. Giraffes are also very sensitive to poor water quality so good filtration is a must.

No need to hoover the gravel he can turn over a tank of gravel in about half an hour. His other trick is to put the boulders in the tank where he wants them. If you move they will be moved back by the next day.

whenever i find these fish in my LFS they are sick :(

I really like the syno

amazing giraffe cat. every time someone posts pics of their big cat i am sitting here trying to figure out how long it will take me to save up for a new 125 or 180 or whatever.

Thanks.

I have a few more residents which i will post as and when they keep still.
I've always been a big fish fan, although as I set up more tanks the fish are getting smaller. I guess its a space thing. :dunno:
