Festivums

I just saw a festivum and i thought is was a really cool looking fish. I'm not looking to get one right one. But I was wondering if anyone keeps them here and what size tank do you keep them in?

I have festivums, I to thought they were really cool fish. I keep them in a 55 gallon. They do nothing but hide, they have been hiding for two years now.

They hide so well in the plants nobody ever see's them.

oh gosh, now all the cichlid people can see me be stupid )

well, what i saw of them at the New Orleans Aquarium didn't indicate any shyness. several were crusing the glass and checking out the people. of course, these were fat&happy festivums in a nearly bare 4 foot cubed aquarium... i also didn't witness any aggression or apparent fin-damage, but i was only staring at them for about a half-hour... whistle: i think that by the end of the day my mom seriously regretted agreeing to go there with me )

Festivums should have a minimum of 30 gallons for there tank and like to have larger.They like to be with others but dont really need to shoal.They like some hiding spots,will eat small fish like neons and guppys,and are good tankmates with nearly any fish that isnt too small or too large, ive kept them in an aggresive,semi-aggresive and peaceful cichlid tank and they mainly stay at the top of the tank.
