What would be a good/best liquid fertalizer to get, currently ive tatratec substrate which is working away wonderfully but i wish to add the ferts. I was adding the "Pets at home" own brand but now i want the good stuff.

thanks neil.

Depends on the setup, but basically you want one that provide all the nutrients the plants need, rather than just the trace elements like the P@H stuff.

So the best all rounder to buy would be Tropica Plant Nutrition +, or buy Seachem Flourish, Flourish Nitrogen and Flourish Phosphorous (all three are needed but they will last longer) and if you notice a deficiency in potassium (little holes in the leaves) you may need to add Seachem Flourish Potassium.

Cheapest and best way to do it is to make your own from dry powders.

Read here: http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/allinone.htm .

Here's how I would explain why some fertilisers like the P@H stuff are rubbish: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?s=&amp...t&p=2351877

i got all my powders for about £40-50 and its wqorking out well , id imagine its much cheaper to

id prefer to get the pre made TPN+ uncase i kill everything mixing my own.lol. thanks for the advice.

depends how big your tank is but you could save a tonne of money if you have a large tank , mines around 100g so would cost a lot to keep it going with pre mixed ferts.
